I always try to throw a decorative recipe printable in every season. This summer, we're going with this Marionberry Jam recipe. It's all kind of summery sweet. The actual Marionberry Jam recipe featured here is one you can make, too. If you don't have Marionberries available, blackberries work perfectly in this one.

I'm thinking your biggest question is...what's a Marionberry? It's very similar to a blackberry...actually, it's scientifically a cross between two specific breeds of blackberries. It originated in Oregon, and, to my knowledge, that's the spot where it's the most popular. But, I had an aunt who loved them. And since my mom's name was Marian (almost "Marion" of the berry), this post today is just a sweet little tribute to my family. You can download this decorative recipe printable for Marionberry Jam below.

I need to start off by telling you that I'm definitely not a food blogger. Oh, back in the day, I posted recipes from time to time, but at this point, I definitely leave that to the professionals. I don't have fancy recipe plug-ins or anything like that. So, please know that this is truly just for decorative printable purposes. If your jam doesn't jam, I do apologize. However, this is an actual, legitimate recipe from my late aunt's recipe box and I thought it would be a fun one to share in an illustrated manner. And, yes, you can certainly make the recipe, too.

Marionberries, like blackberries, are the perfect summertime berry. And their jam has a lovely, tart flavor with plenty of sweetness, as well. It goes great on top of a big southern biscuit. Or, even on a peanut butter sandwich. It's a lovely jam to keep on hand during the summertime. And if you properly can yours, you can put some up for the cooler months, as well. Below, I typed out the actual recipe so you can see it before committing to a download.

Ingredients

  • 5 cups fresh marionberries (or blackberries if you aren't able to find marionberries)
  • 2 1/2 cups sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • zest from 1 lemon

Directions

In the bowl of a food processor, combine berries, sugar, and lemon juice. Pulse until berries are all crushed and the ingredients are combined.

Pour mixture into a saucepan and heat over medium until boiling. Stirring regularly, keep jam at a simmer for about half an hour, until thickened.

Skim off foam. Fold in lemon zest.

Can as you would any jam. Or, store in airtight container in refrigerator for two weeks. Makes three cups.

Illustrated Recipe Printable

My previous illustrated recipe printables were slightly different than this one for Marionberry Jam (they had lots of ingredients depicted in the image). I wanted that iconic red, plaid topped jelly jar to be the star of the show for this particular printable. And blackberry and marionberry vines to be coming in from the edges in a fun, summery manner.

Printable Sizes and Formats

This Marionberry Jam printable is available with or without the lavender buffalo check background (both options pictured above). I do love the background on this one...it's almost like a summer tablecloth. I didn't create the 4x6" size this time around (sorry, friends). The actual type became so small on that size that it was barely legible. But, this Marionberry Jam Recipe Printable is available in the following sizes and formats (both with and without the background):

  • 8x10" PDF
  • 8x10" JPEG
  • 5x7" PDF (prints with two designs per page to reduce paper waste)
  • 5x7" JPEG
