To people interested in numerology, these are known as "angel numbers" or "synchronicity" and are a sign of spiritual guidance. This could relate to any area of your life, from career to family or money, but the number "222" is said to have special meaning when it comes to relationships.
So, if you're seeing 222 everywhere, here's what a higher power might be trying to tell you.

"Spiritual realms like angels, or even your [deceased] loved ones, will never give a direct message," she told Newsweek. "They will always communicate in ways that have to be deciphered."
Braidley said number sequences were "a sure sign angels are around you, supporting you in your life, and it's time to pay attention and listen to what they have to say."
The number 222 has been trending online lately, although that probably has more to do with a supernatural drama now playing in London's West End. The thriller 2:22 A Ghost Story, which stars Harry Potter's Tom Felton and previously starred Brooklyn 99's Stephanie Beatriz, explores a haunting that supposedly takes place every night at 2:22 a.m.—and the relationships between two couples who investigate it.
What Does 222 Mean?
Numerologist Richard Abbot believes numbers can help us solve problems, make decisions and understand ourselves better. He told Newsweek that two represents intuition and feeling.
"Whenever we see repeated numbers, the idea is that we are somehow being reminded of the message behind that number," Abbot said. "So, 222 is a 'signal' that an opportunity to encounter a heightened level of emotion is approaching."
In addition, 222 is known as the "soul mate" number, because it appears often in angel readings regarding romance. It has a few potential meanings, depending on your circ*mstances, including:
- A new relationship is on its way
- Your love life is harmonious
- Your relationship will overcome troubling times
- It's time to take a break from your partner
- You've found your soul mate.
If You're Single and Seeing 222
If you're single and repeatedly spotting the number 222, the universe could be telling you to put yourself out there more. The number suggests a new partner is on the horizon, if you're willing to open yourself up to opportunities.
Seeing 222 everywhere could mean you're about to find your soul mate, Abbot said, "the appearance of someone in our life who will be able to assist with our soul growth and personal development."
The number can also symbolize two people becoming one to build something new, but what that "something" is can vary. It can be a new romance, a baby or a home improvement project.
If You're in a Relationship and Seeing 222
If you're in a happy relationship, 222 is a sign your partner is loyal and trustworthy, so take some time to show them your appreciation.
If you and your partner are going through a rough patch, 222 could be telling you to work on your issues. If you're both willing to put in the effort, your relationship will come out stronger than ever.
However, 222 could also be telling you to take a break from your partner. If you're struggling to grow together, some time apart might be good for you. If you really are twin flames, you'll find each other again when you're ready.

Outside your love life, seeing 222 can mean many things, according to Braidley. "222 isn't just about matters of the heart, there is a message there for other areas of your life, like career [and] money."
The number 22 symbolizes your goals and desires and that you're prepared to work hard to achieve them. So, seeing 222 can be a sign you're on the right path, as long as you stay dedicated.
The number two also represents balance and finding harmony in life, so 222 can signal new possibilities and choices, Abbot said.
"In the workplace, it can indicate the revealing of previously hidden information," he added.
"In relation to family it will show the need to give and take, to reach for harmony and to avoid conflict. While with money it warns against impulse purchases and highlights the need for a budget and to be prudent in your spending."
The number 222 also acts as a reminder to enjoy the moment and stop obsessing over what the future will hold—you're where you need to be at this point in time.
A Sign From Above, or Just a Coincidence?
Not convinced that otherworldly beings are trying to tell you something via a license plate? That's OK, Braidley said—it all depends on your mindset.
"People with spiritual beliefs take comfort in the messages behind these numbers and use them as guidance," she said.
"Depending on how your mind works and your own belief system, you have free will to consider that these sequences of numbers are coincidence, but [they're] worth noting if these numbers appear when you need the guidance the most."
