The Premier League is the most-watched football league in the world with TV audiences around the globe tuning in to witness the top players duking it out on the pitch. And while we all like to think it is a level playing field, it’s always clear who the favourites are each season.
In fact, even the playing fields themselves aren’t equal and some teams play on larger or smaller pitches than their rivals. Read on for the full list of Premier League pitch sizes for the 2023/24 season.
Premier League Pitch Dimensions
Premier League teams must ensure that their pitches meet the size regulations laid out by the Football Association (FA). The rules state that pitch dimensions must fall within the range of 90m – 120m in length and 45m – 90m in width.
With such a variety of pitch size possible due to the dimension rules, it’s uncommon for all Premier League pitches to be the same size. In fact, many of the Premier League pitches won’t even use the same type of grass, such are the fine margins in the pursuit of victory.
Due to the dimensions available, some teams can have a short and wide pitch while others opt for long and narrow. Pitch dimensions can determine play style but once they are measured out for the season they must remain the same.
